Fly Me To The Moon

CHILDREN, Ages 6-11

1:00pm-3:00pm

In this class we will work on a large painting/collage inspired by Faith Ringold’s story quilts. One of her books, Tar Beach recalls her childhood in New York City where her rooftop became a place of social gathering and community. Our young artists will imagine themselves flying above their homes with family, friends and pets as they survey the world below them.

Sip and Paint

MUST BE 21 AND OVER

Focusing on a single painting by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Georgia O’Keefe, we will complete a painting each session.

We’re open to suggestions on what to paint, so if you’re feeling an urge to paint a seascape, flowers, a cityscape or something else, let us know and we can do that!

Come and have fun, make new friends, and paint and draw as you drink the beverage of your choice! (BYOB)

The Collage Still-Life

Adults

Looking at two famous artists, Frida Kahlo and Henri Matisse for inspiration, we will create three different still-life paintings using acrylic paint and collage.

The beauty of collage is that it allows us to move the collaged pieces of paper around the surface of the image so that we can see where they work best. This class will mingle stories from art history while we make unusual and unexpected still-lifes.
