Classes for Children

Our goal is for our young artists to both learn and have a great time doing it! With a small group of children, sparks of creativity can be seized upon and used as jumping-off points for greater exploration and expression. A child's meandering creativity is respected and hopefully enriched by our guidance. Our small classes enable us to teach real skills effectively. We have the time and freedom to stop and discuss a piece of art or a period in art history at the moment when it becomes relevant in a child's work.

Larger Than Life!

Ages 6-11

Saturdays, 10:00am-12:00pm

November 1, 8, 15, 22 • December 6, 13

$180 for 6-class series

5% discount for each additional child (per family)

Over three projects we will investigate the role that scale plays in creating images. From making blown-up paintings of shells that are in front of us, to creating collages using newsprint and oversized images of flowers and beach balls, we will discover what it’s like to take everyday objects and supersize them!

Color Explosion 2

Ages 6-11

Sundays, 2:00pm-4:00pm. November 16, 23, 30 • December 7

$120 for 4-class series

From painting to printing we will explore the power of color. From fluorescent sunsets to magical monoprints we will make vibrant landscapes on large sheets of paper and then switch to creating one-of-a-kind abstractions.
